Stefano Boeri Architetti's event, 'Green Obsession: Trees Towards Cities, Humans Towards Forests,' was held in the Blue Zone of the Italian Pavilion on November 7. The event provided a platform for Impact One and Therme Art to showcase their Dubai Wellbeing City concept, which is currently being developed in collaboration with Stefano Boeri Architetti. Organised in conjunction with the Ministry of Ecological Transition, the event served as a catalyst for discussions revolving around integrative urban planning, sustainable city living, and biodiversity.

Stefano Boeri emphasised the critical role of trees in urban environments, highlighting that a mature tree in the city can produce 110 kg of oxygen annually and absorb approximately 400 kg of carbon dioxide. According to Boeri, integrating nature into cities worldwide is no longer just a well-intentioned initiative by a minority—it has become an imperative if we envision our cities as the protagonists of change.

'Green Obsession' embodies the design approach guiding Stefano Boeri Architetti's endeavours. Building upon the success of Milan's Bosco Verticale, an international symbol of the interplay between urban environments and living nature, the studio leads architectural and urban planning projects aimed at integrating urban forestry strategies worldwide. Green Obsession delves into the intricacies and processes involved in the quest for a new urbanism, proposing an alternative trajectory to tackle the environmental crisis.

The event served as an opportunity to discuss the necessary paradigm shift required to move toward an ecological transition.
